UPDATE: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Posted by Hannah Bromfield on 14 March 2020

With regards to Coronavirus (COVID-19), Boots Hockey Club will be continuing to monitor advice from England Hockey and Public Health England.

In order to reduce the risk to players, please follow Health England's advice at all times but also consider the following for hockey specifically:

- not using communal water bottles.

- washing hands before and after your game.

- if you are feeling unwell follow Health England's advice and self-isolate.

- if you do find yourself coughing or sneezing please ensure it is into your elbow.

- Instead of the traditional handshake at the start and end of the game, please consider tapping sticks as seen in the following video: https://twitter.com/Xenioshockey/status/1235819830562832384. A smile and thanks of appreciation to officials may be more appropriate at this current time.

We would advise all of our players, parents and hockey organisers to ensure they read the information available.

Boots Hockey Club will continue to monitor advice and will update as necessary.
